This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified maintenance technician who shares our vision of excellent customer service and professionalism to join our team at one of our many properties located throughout the Tri-County area. The right candidate will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in the daily maintenance operations which include service requests, apartment turnover, and grounds.

Successful candidates will be able to perform the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner as a Kaftan Communities representative; demonstrating sound judgment and conduct.
  • Ensure the quality and quantity of work; always maintaining high standards.
  • Meet service request deadlines.
  • Monitor inventory of the most commonly used parts to ensure an adequate stock.
  • Assist with snow/ice removal, as required.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with residents and co-workers.
  • Ability to lift at least 80 pounds.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, such as climbing ladders and stairs; walking, kneeling, standing, squatting, twisting, and bending for prolonged periods of time.
  • Experience with drywall, painting, caulking, and grouting is required.
  • Experience with windows, doors, appliances, sinks/faucets, garbage disposals, and door locks, as well as general carpentry and ceramic/vinyl tile installations.
  • General plumbing and electrical experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems such as water heaters, furnaces, and air conditioning units.
  • Ability to conduct basic roof, gutter, and downspout repairs.
  • Must have own tools and transportation.
  • HVAC Certifications strongly preferred.
